Michelle Cobb is the preschool director at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School. She has over 20 years’ of experience working and advocating for preschool children. Mrs. Cobb received her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Midway College and a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky in Early Childhood and Family Studies. She has been married for 16 years and is the mother of 4 wonderful children.
Tiffany Barr - PK Teacher-
Tiffany Barr is the Lead teacher of PK A at Mary Queen School. This is her 9th year teaching here at Mary Queen but she has been teaching preschool for 15 years. Mrs. Barr graduated from both Mary Queen and Lexington Catholic. She then received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development at Eastern Kentucky University. Mrs. Barr also has a Master’s degree in Special Education from Campbellsville University. She has two little boys who both attend school at Mary Queen. Mrs. Barr had a great experience at Mary Queen School and is excited to help others feel the same.
Marie Caldwell -PK Teacher
Marie Caldwell is the Lead PK C teacher for 3 year olds. She has taught at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary since 2017. Born and raised in Lexington, she graduated from WKU with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications and also has her CDA in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Caldwell and her husband, Jeff, have two boys, Joseph and Jacob, and two Boston Terriers, Bubba and Rocco. In her free time, Mrs. Caldwell likes to refinish furniture and crafting.
Deirdre O'Dwyer - PK Teacher -
Deirdre O’Dwyer is the PreK D teacher. She has 15 years of experience teaching in Catholic Schools. Mrs. O’Dwyer previously worked as a teaching assistant for preschool and early elementary classes. She received her CDA through Morehead State University and in May 2016, she completed her Catechist Certification through the Diocese of Lexington. She is passionate about children and is happy to teach at a school that supports the development of each student’s individual potential. Both Deirdre and her husband John hail from Ireland; they have two adult children.
Monica Negron- PK Teacher - Inclusive Assistant
Mrs. Negron is from El Salvador and her first language is Spanish. This is her 9th year at MQHR School. Mrs. Negron has over 15 years of experience working with children. She received her Kentucky Director's Credential as well as her CDA in 2013 from Morehead University. Her husband is from Puerto Rico and they have two beautiful children. Mrs. Negron's favorite sport is soccer and her favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi.
Kayla Couch - PK Teacher -
Kayla Couch is our newest preschool teacher. Ms. Couch comes to us with 5 years preschool teaching. She loves teaching preschool because she believes that the early educational years are some of the most important years in a child's growth and development. She strives to make a positive impact in a young child's life. Watching a child grow and learn means a lot to her and she cherishs those memories. Ms. Couch is originally from Massachusetts and moved here to Lexington in 2017. She has a Bachelor's Degree and she is in the process of returning to attain a Master's in the Art of Teaching. Ms. Couch has a young son, Bentley and she's excited for him to thrive here at our preschool program. Outside of teaching she enjoys spending time with Bentley, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
Laura Hester - PK Teacher -
Laura Hester is a Pre-K teacher at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University in Maryland in 2002. She is originally from Rhode Island, and moved with her husband to Lexington, Kentucky in 2003. Mrs. Hester has taught at Christ the King School, KORE Academy, and Sts. Peter and Paul School. She has two children, one who attends Bennington College in Vermont, and the other who is a Junior at LaFayette High School in Lexington. Her husband is a deacon for the Diocese of Lexington, and works as a pastoral associate at Historic St. Paul Catholic Church in Lexington. Mrs. Hester is a catechist in her parish teaching CCD Sacramental prep and Children’s Liturgy of the Word. In her free time, Mrs. Hester loves to garden, draw, craft, sing, read, and be with her family.
Jessica Thompson - PK Teaching Assistant -
Jessica Thompson is a Preschool teacher assistant. This is her first year with us at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School. We are excited to have her in the classroom and she's excited to keep the teaching tradition alive in her family, as both her father and grandmother were teachers. Mrs. Thompson grew up in Louisville, KY and Tampa, FL. Mrs. Thompson is married to her husband, Warren, a MQHRS and Lexington Catholic Alumni. Two years ago, she and her family decided to return to the area and settled in Lexington, making it their home. They have two daughters, both attending MQHRS. In her spare time, she loves to read and craft. Their favorite place to vacation is to their family's cottage on Crystal Lake in northern Michigan.
Ruth Choate - PK Teaching Assistant -
Ruth Choate is a Preschool teacher assistant. She is a Lexington local, previously attended SCAPA, and later studied Music Technology at Transylvania University. She enjoys singing and performing in her free time. Ms. Choate joined our teaching team during the middle of our last school year and is excited to be back in the classroom for 2023/2024!
Katherine Richards- PK Teaching Assistant -
Katherine Richards is a new preschool teaching assistant at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School, although not new to teaching. Ms. Richards grew up in Bourbon County. Ms. Richards has a Bacherlor's Degree in History from Catawba College, in Salisbury, NC. Teaching has been her passion. She has worked as a Special Ed Paraeducator and further enjoyed time as a teacher in a Montessori school. Ms. Richards is a proud mother of a 3rd grader and enjoys spending time together as a family. In her spare time she enjoys theatre, singing, baking, as well as volunteer cosplay with a non-profit group that helps to raise funds for children at various schools, hospitals, and other non-profit groups. She's a fan of all things Harry Potter and is excited to work with our preschool children.
Maryann Cawood- Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Cawood is a graduate from Mary Queen, Lexington Catholic and the University of Kentucky. Her daughters are also graduates of MQHR School and Lexington Catholic High School. She has been assisting in the classroom since 2000, She has worked with pre-school, kindergarten, first grade and afterschool care. She feels blessed to be a part of the Mary Queen School and Parish.
Rachel Fister - PK Teaching Assistant -
Ms. Fister has been serving our littlest Panther's since 2015. She is an alumna
of MQHRS (K-7th grade) and attended the University of Kentucky. She began her career with us working in aftercare and fell in love with our Preschool Program. She loves working with children and watching their minds grow and loves to be a part of the learning process. Ms. Fister has a goldendoodle named Maya and a cat named Lucy.
Victoria Peyton - PK Teaching Assistant -
Mrs. Peyton is one of Mary Queen’s Preschool Assistant Teachers. Mrs. Peyton served the Diocese of Lexington as a youth missionary before joining the MQHR family in 2021, working in both schools and parishes all across the greater Lexington area to minister to the young Church. She currently serves as a middle school and high school youth minister at St. Joseph in Winchester and is in the process of earning her Catechist Certification. In her free time, Mrs. Peyton loves to cook and spend time with her husband and family.
Kelly Isaacs - PK Teaching Assistant -
Kelly Isaacs is a Lexington native of Lexington. She attended the University of Kentucky and completed her CDA in Early Childhood Education in 2023. Kelly and her husband ,Garrett, have three children, all of which attend Mary Queen School. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys swimming, walking, reading, and traveling. Their family’s favorite place is Naples FL and Laurel Lake.
Peggy King - PK Teacher-
Peggy King is a Mary Queen Parishioner and Preschool Teacher. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for 29 years, and is the mom of four children – all Mary Queen graduates. Prior to coming to Mary Queen, Mrs. King taught preschool for 12 years at Sts. Peter and Paul School. After “retiring” and missing being in the preschool, she is happy to be back teaching full time in the classroom. Mrs. King attended the University of Michigan and earned a bachelor degree in history. In 2011, she obtained a CDA certification in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family, hiking, reading and knitting.
Michelle Lugo- PK Teaching Assistant -
Michelle Lugo is a Preschool Teacher Assistant in Mrs. Caldwell's classroom. Mrs. Lugo has called Lexington home for the past 5 years and loves being part of our Mary Queen family. Mrs. Lugo is the mother of two children, and her children have attended MQHR since preschool and are currently in second and fourth grade. Their family has a dog we adore, he is an Aussie Doodle named Santo (Saint in Spanish). Mrs. Lugo's native language is Spanish. A few of her favorite things are: gardening, baking, reading, and crafting. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children either watching their favorite movies and shows or playing board games together. She is looking forward to meeting your little ones and having a fun school year!
Hannah Haysley- Kindergarten Teacher -
Hannah Haysley is one of our two Kindergarten teachers. This is her third year teaching here at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. Hannah attended St. John Catholic school in Georgetown from Kindergarten through Eighth grade and loved her Catholic educational upbringing. She graduated from Scott County Highschool, and then attended Eastern Kentucky University where she graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education in 2020. Hannah joined our teaching team and has thrived in her role here and is now also Orton-Gillingham trained.
Lisa Borsuk - Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Borsuk is the Kindergarten assistant for Ms. Haysley. She has been at Mary Queen School for 27 years, 10 years as a 1st grade assistant and 17 years in Kindergarten. Mrs. Borsuk has 3 adult children who attended Mary Queen and Lexington Catholic Schools. She is originally from the New York area and attended Catholic schools there. Before settling in the Lexington area, she lived in North Carolina and Colorado. She moved here in 1989 and has been a parishioner for 33 years. Mrs Borsuk feels blessed to be part of the Mary Queen community.
Maddy Fitch-Caudill - Kindergarten Teacher
Maddy Caudill is a kindergarten teacher at Mary Queen. This is her second year in Kindergarten and 4th year teaching here at Mary Queen. She is from Lexington and is a Mary Queen and Lexington Catholic graduate. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Kentucky. Ms. Caudill loves her dog, spending time with friends and enjoys traveling and theatre.

She has been assisting in the classroom since 2000, She has worked with pre-school, kindergarten, first grade and afterschool care. She feels blessed to be a part of the Mary Queen School and Parish.
Megan Miklosovic is a Pre-k Teaching Assistant at Mary Queen School. Originally from upstate New York and always enjoyed working with children since an early age, when she began baby sitting in middle school. She studied Elementary Education at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. When she married, her husband Mike, she moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. After teaching kindergarten briefly, she's been home raising her 9 children for the last 23 years. She's been a CCD teacher, helped with VBS in various capacities, homeschooled her children at times, was a substitute teacher and volunteered at various schools. This August her family (only the 5 youngest children) relocated to the Lexington area. Her youngest 4 children are attending MQHRS. She has joined the parish and loves how welcoming and kind the MQHR community is. They feel right at home. She is looking forward to working with the younger children and excited to get to know everyone at Mary Queen. She enjoys reading, baking and spending time with her family.
