Mary Queen students have the opportunity to explore and strengthen their artistic, musical, and athletic abilities, as well as their academic and leadership skills, through a wide range of clubs. From the basketball court to the stage, Mary Queen offers something for everyone.
Art Club
Art Club gives students who wish to pursue their artistic interests an opportunity to enhance skills while learning new techniques and socializing with friends.
Band
Band provides students in 5th through 8th grade an opportunity for students to continue their appreciation of music. Band takes place during the school day for academic credit. The band performs at concerts throughout the school year.
Battle of the Books (BOB)
Students in 2nd through 8th grade can participate in the BOB program. Book clubs meet once a month after school throughout the year to discuss the books. Interested students can try out for the BOB teams which complete against the other Diocesan Schools for the annual “battle”.
Beta Club
Beta Club is represented by middle school students who promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service. Selected students are invited to participate and members are required to track their service hours during the year through completion and submission of the service hours record.

Creative Writing Club
Did you know Harper Lee drew inspiration from her classic characters when she was merely a teenager? Did you know S.E. Hinton began writing THE OUTSIDERS when she was just fifteen. FIFTEEN?! That's a year older than an eighth grader! No one is too young to write their story. Want to start writing your story. Join us for the Creative Writing Club on Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. International Club
The International Club is uniquely designed to allow families of varying cultures and backgrounds to grow through sharing experiences! In an ever changing interconnected world, now more than ever, it is imperative that people come together to teach and learn through discussion, games, food, and much more! Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA)
Middle school students may participate in the Kentucky Youth Assembly, a mock government assembly where children write and present legislation in the state capitol in Frankfort, meet in committee, and speak for or against specific student proposals.
Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA)
Students in may participate in the Kentucky United Nations Association, where students prepare and present projects that celebrate the diversity of the many cultures of our world.
Morning Show
The morning show provides our Middle School students with the opportunity to gain broadcasting experience. From news to weather, our morning show keeps our school up to date on the latest happenings.
Recycling Club
Mary Queen has gone green and our school is making a conscientious effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Club members take care of emptying recycling bins and promoting an earth-conscientious environment.
Robotics Club
MQHR has competed in two different Lego Robotics Competitions- First Lego League and Extereme Robo Challenge. This club meets once each week in the fall and winter.
